Compact electric vehicle BYD Atto 2 aims to compete against Volvo's EX30 model, boosting its price tag to £30,850.
New Electric Crossover, BYD Atto 2, Set to Launch in the UK Next Month
The Chinese car giant BYD is set to launch its premium electric crossover, the Atto 2, in the UK next month. Positioned between the Jeep Avenger and Hyundai Kona Electric, the Atto 2 will compete with models like the Smart #1 and Volvo EX30.
The Atto 2 will be available in two configurations: Boost and Comfort. Both models can accelerate from 0-62mph in 7.9 seconds and have a top speed of 99mph.
The entry-level Boost model comes with a single motor that produces 174bhp. It uses a 51.1kWh battery pack, providing a range of 214 miles. The Boost model can handle charging rates of up to 82kW, allowing the pack to be charged from 30-80% in just 30 minutes. This model comes with 17in alloys.
The Comfort model, on the other hand, features a more powerful, 201bhp front-mounted motor. It uses a larger 64.8kWh battery pack, offering up to 261 miles of range. The Comfort model increases the charging rate to 155kW, reducing the fill-up time to a mere 21 minutes. This model will come with a better-equipped version later this year and is expected to feature BYD's 15.6in touchscreen.
The Atto 2 offers a host of features, including a 12.8in rotatable touchscreen, similar to the larger Atto 3. It also comes with wireless charging, a 'high-tech' audio system with eight speakers, and vehicle-to-load (V2L) capabilities, which allow it to power external devices such as a lawnmower.
The Comfort model will be priced at £34,950, while the entry-level Boost model will be priced from £30,850. The Atto 2 will fill the gap between the Dolphin hatch and Atto 3 in BYD's lineup.
The Atto 2 is BYD's latest offering in the electric crossover segment and is poised to provide a premium driving experience at an affordable price point. It's now available to order, so don't miss out on the opportunity to be one of the first to own this exciting new vehicle.
