City Unveils 37-Hectare Business Quarter Plan Around Old Market Grounds
The city is set to transform a 37-hectare area into a bustling business quarter. The master plan, expected to be finalised by March next year, focuses on creating mainly laboratories and offices, benefiting from the proximity of BioCity-Campus and veterinary clinics.
The development, which excludes residential units, will breathe new life into the Old Market Grounds around the Kohlrabi Circus and the historic locomotive shed. The city council will have the final say on the master plan. As for the architects or planning group behind this project, details remain scarce. It could be a local or lesser-known initiative.
By March, the city aims to have a solid master plan for the 37-hectare business quarter. The council will then make the final call, shaping the future of the Old Market Grounds and its historic landmarks.
