City Initiative Bremen's fresh leader - Stefan Brockmann
Stefan Brockmann Takes the Helm at CityInitiative Bremen Advertising e.V.
Stefan Brockmann, a seasoned retail industry veteran with over 20 years of experience, has been appointed as the new chairman of the CityInitiative Bremen Advertising e.V. This association, established in 1995, is dedicated to making Bremen's city center more attractive through diverse events, measures to improve the quality of stay, and sales promotion.
Brockmann's journey with the CityInitiative began in 2013, when he joined as a member. He was subsequently elected to the board in 2016, and in August 2025, he assumed the role of chairman. In addition to his duties with the CityInitiative, Brockmann also serves as the Vice President of the Bremen Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Bremen and Bremerhaven.
The CityInitiative is not restricted to the retail sector. It consists of representatives from local retail, resident gastronomy and hotel industry, various service companies, as well as cultural, economic, and mobility institutions. The central fields of activity of the City Initiative are informing, networking, and shaping.
Brockmann's board activities focus on the areas of traffic and cooperation with other economic representatives and associations. However, it's important to note that the CityInitiative's activities are not limited to these areas. The association's mission does not involve managing stores, unlike Brockmann's past roles in retail management.
Before joining the CityInitiative, Brockmann was the independent managing director of "BoConcept" in the city. This branch of the largest retail chain in the Danish furniture industry has 330 stores throughout Europe. Prior to that, he served as the managing director of "Karstadt" in Bremen and "Dodenhof".
Effective representation of the interests of city center actors towards politics and administration is a key goal for the CityInitiative. The association strives to create a vibrant and appealing city center that benefits all its residents and visitors. With Brockmann at the helm, the CityInitiative is poised to continue its mission of making Bremen's city center a thriving hub of activity and commerce.
