Changes in summer remuneration: alterations in pension schemes and salary disbursements effective from 1st June
Updated Pension Rates in Russia Favor Women, with Changes Imminent
Russian women retirees currently receive pensions higher than their male counterparts, according to the Social Fund of Russia's data for 2025. The average monthly pension payout for women is 23,249.58 rubles, compared to 23,028.33 rubles for men. The national average is 23,175.17 rubles. This difference has persisted for several years, and certain adjustments related to pension payments are scheduled to take effect this summer. For further details, visit our website.
Enhanced Benefits for Citizens Over 80
Beginning June 1, the fixed additional insurance pension for Russians turning 80 in May will be doubled. This announcement was made by Svetlana Bessarab, a member of the State Duma committee on labor, social policy, and veterans' affairs, during an interview with "Lenta.ru." The extra payment in June will amount to 8,907.7 rubles.
Bessarab clarified that information about the increases in social benefits, effective June 1, has been widely publicized. However, such enhancements occur regularly, on a monthly basis. If a citizen's single benefit term expires in May and they submit new applications, the payments will be made in an increased amount starting from June, as the minimum subsistence level has been increased in all Russian regions since January.
Additionally, citizens who were assigned a disability of Group I in May of the current year will also receive an additional pension payment of 8,907.7 rubles. The recalculation occurs automatically without the need for applications or additional documents. However, it's important to note that this increase can only be assigned on one of two grounds: either reaching the age of 80 or due to the establishment of a disability. Simultaneous receipt of the increase for both reasons is not provided.
Additional Pension Benefits
Citizens who continued to work officially after retirement without an indexation of their pension payments for the past period are entitled to corresponding supplements upon stopping their work activity. Moreover, pensioners with dependents can claim an increase in the fixed part of their insurance pension. The supplement equals one-third of the fixed payment, equivalent to 2969.23 rubles and is provided for each dependent, but not more than for three.
Advanced Pension Payments in June
Russian pensioners who typically receive their payments after June 12 will receive their pensions earlier than the scheduled date due to the extended holidays. This information was shared by State Duma Deputy Alexei Govyrin. The Social Fund of Russia will facilitate early payment of pensions to avoid delays. Citizens who usually receive payments after June 12 will be able to receive their funds on June 10 or 11.
The early payment will affect all recipients, regardless of how they receive their funds - through banking institutions or post offices. After the holidays, the payment schedule will return to its usual regime. Govyrin advises pensioners to confirm the specific dates of funds receipt in their banks, post offices, or Social Fund offices.
Additional Regional Payments in June
Some regions are planning additional payments timed to certain dates, such as Children's Day, in June. These measures are implemented in the Samara and Sverdlovsk regions. However, it should be noted that the provision of social assistance affects only certain categories of large families and single parents and is carried out at the discretion of the regional authorities.
Changes in the Procedure for Appointing Social Payments
As of June 1, alterations will take effect in Russia regulating the process of determining some social benefits, without affecting the amounts of benefits. Changes influence the mechanism for calculating the average per capita income of a family and the order of considering alimony. The expert emphasizes that these modifications will apply only to applications submitted from the aforementioned date onwards.
The first change concerns divorced parents receiving alimony for their children. When applying for a unified benefit, the amount of alimony specified in a notarized agreement between former spouses will be taken into account, provided it meets the minimum requirements set by the Russian Family Code: 25% of the minimum wage for one child, 33% for two, and 50% for three or more children. If the agreement states an amount lower than the minimum, the legally established minimum will be used for calculation. Meanwhile, the procedure for determining the amount of benefit for single parents or guardians remains unchanged.
The second change pertains to the inclusion of minors' income in the calculation of the average per capita income. Starting June 1, earnings of children under 18 years old from official employment will not be included in the calculation if the minor is enrolled in an educational institution during the reporting period. This means that income from part-time jobs of schoolchildren and college students will no longer affect their families' eligibility for social support.
