Fast-forward to spring 2025, and Development-South's "A+" quarter in Yekaterinburg snags a spot among the top-5 most popular comfort-class projects in the location. The cherry on top? It's also ranking high in sales numbers. But the road to success wasn't always smooth.

"In June 2025, it'll be a dozen years since I first set foot in Development-South", says Magomed. Back then, he was a sales manager with no experience in real estate, working in the restaurant industry. But one fateful phone call from the corporation's founder, Sergei Petrovich, turned his life upside down. After that, no amount of obstacles would stand in his way.

From zero to hero: lessons learned

Magomed's first deal was a challenging one - a studio in Krasnodar's "Sports Village" residential complex. He recalls feeling nervous and unsure, having to learn the ropes of real estate on the fly. But with the guidance of mentor Svetlana Voyevodina, he steadily climbed the corporate ladder.

Throughout his career, Magomed met memorable clients and closed intriguing deals. There was a big-spending couple who demanded a legal consultant's presence during contract signing and ended up becoming regular clients. Then there was the lockdown deal that changed Magomed's approach to sales, leading him to close several deals in the premium-class "Riviera" project and securing business in Development Plaza.

Moving north: challenges and triumphs

Magomed spent eight years working in Krasnodar before he stepped into Yekaterinburg, a city far beyond the Ural Mountains. Initially hesitant, he soon found himself thriving in Yekaterinburg's vibrant and promising atmosphere.

"Creating a sales department from scratch and establishing processes was challenging", admits Magomed. With only three team members to start with, they held meetings in cafes and began constructing the unique selling proposition for the project. Today, the sales department in Yekaterinburg boasts nine specialists and counting.

Sales psychology and team building

According to Magomed, building a winning sales team is all about recruiting the right people. He emphasizes the importance of human qualities over work experience. As he puts it, "Trust is the most important thing, both from the leader and from all team members."

To create a team with a strong synergy, Magomed looks for candidates who show potential and fit the corporate culture. A good manager doesn't just guide, but understands each team member, offering personalized support and problem-solving strategies.

A day in the life of a sales department manager

Magomed's typical day is busy, with 5 to 10 meetings in the diary and routine tasks keeping him occupied. In addition to handling everyday responsibilities, he forges strong relationships with partners and constantly strives to improve sales performance.

For Magomed, the secret to success lies in active listening, empathy, and a deep understanding of clients' needs and challenges. "A good manager doesn't just mentor; they understand each team member." As he puts it, "The key is to read between the lines, notice strengths, and help overcome fears."

Fast-forward to the future: Development-South is expanding in Yekaterinburg, adding more residential buildings to the Academic area and looking forward to launching sales for the second and third phases of the "A+" project. It's evident that Magomed's journey, with its challenges and triumphs, will continue to inspire and guide the sales team as they carve their way to success in the ever-changing real estate market.
