News Article: Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce to Host Government Forum with Rep. Andy Barr

On August 15, 2025, the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a Government Forum, featuring a conversation with U.S. Representative Andy Barr. The event will take place at the Receptions Banquet and Conference Center - South in Erlanger, Kentucky.

Rep. Barr, who has represented Kentucky's Sixth Congressional District since 2013, will discuss the latest developments in Washington and how federal actions could impact local businesses in Northern Kentucky. As a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee and the Select Committee on China, he will offer insights on these matters, as well as his aspirations as a candidate for the U.S. Senate in 2026.

One of the key topics that Rep. Barr is expected to address is his support for the Guiding and Establishing National Innovation for U.S. Stablecoins (GENIUS) Act, a law aimed at making America the dominant home for cryptocurrency for future generations. He has also played a significant role in crafting and voting for the Big Beautiful Bill Act, which was recently signed into law by President Trump.

In addition, Rep. Barr has advanced sanctions on those involved in China's fentanyl supply chain and led efforts to confront the threat of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) by authoring legislation to block U.S. investment in Chinese military and surveillance companies.

Tami Wilson, NKY Chamber vice president of government relations and business advocacy, expressed her pleasure to welcome Rep. Barr to Northern Kentucky. She emphasized that the forum is an opportunity for local entrepreneurs to engage in a conversation with the Congressman about government and policy issues that are relevant to their community.

Tickets for the Government Forum range from $35 to $50, depending on membership status, and registration can be done online at www.nkychamber.com. Registration for the Government Forum is free with an NKYP Event Pass.

Rep. Barr, a graduate of Henry Clay High School in Lexington, Kentucky (1992), earned his B.A. in Government and Philosophy from the University of Virginia in 1996 and his J.D. from the University of Kentucky in 2001. He currently resides in Lexington, Kentucky with his wife, Davis, and their children, Hale, Eleanor, and Mary Clay.

Rep. Barr thanked the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce for the opportunity to address Northern Kentucky entrepreneurs and expressed his eagerness to engage in a productive conversation about the future of federal policy and its impact on local businesses.
