Chamber Honors Leadership Awardees for Annual Celebration on August 22nd
The Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce is set to celebrate three outstanding alumni from its leadership programmes at the 2025 Leadership Alumni Awards. The event, scheduled for August 22, 2025, at Receptions Banquet and Conference Center-South in Erlanger, will recognise the significant contributions of these distinguished individuals to the Northern Kentucky region.
Among the honourees is Ron Washington, the Mayor of the City of Covington and a Leadership Northern Kentucky alumnus from the class of 2000. Mayor Washington will receive the Ruth A. Eger Leader of Distinction Award, which honours individuals who have made lifelong contributions to the region. His nomination was made by fellow Leadership Northern Kentucky alumni in recognition of his impactful leadership and community service.
Mayor Washington began his career in law enforcement, becoming the first African American police officer in Florence. After serving as Chief Deputy in the Kenton County Sheriff's Office for five years, he retired from law enforcement and founded NKY Med Clinic, one of the largest medication-assisted treatment centres in Kentucky.
The other two honourees will receive The Leadership Volunteer Impact Award and the inaugural R. Casey Barach Leadership Award for Entrepreneurship.
