CEO of PrettyLittleThing Resigns
Boohoo, the UK-based online fashion retailer, has announced a change in leadership at its Manchester-based brand, PrettyLittleThing. Umar Kamani, the founder and CEO of PrettyLittleThing, has stepped down from his position after 12 years.
Kamani's departure comes amidst a challenging year for the company, with Boohoo reporting a 12% revenue decline for the year ending February 28. In the four months prior to January, Boohoo's total revenue dropped by 11%, and the company's inventory was reduced by 27% year over year. Despite these challenges, Kamani's vision for PrettyLittleThing remains clear: a fairytale-like world where customers find confidence and inspiration.
Under Kamani's leadership, PrettyLittleThing collaborated with celebrities such as Kourtney Kardashian and Hailey Bieber, and the brand releases new products daily. Kamani finds inspiration for the brand from Disneyland, creating a unique and vibrant shopping experience for customers.
As Kamani steps down, Molly-Mae Hague takes the reins as the new CEO of PrettyLittleThing. Hague is no stranger to the fashion industry, having evolved within it and even having connections to PrettyLittleThing through her own fashion label, Maebe. Although the exact confirmation of her appointment as CEO is not explicitly provided, posts highlight her significant role and leadership in associated fashion ventures.
Kamani will continue to support PrettyLittleThing on some projects during the search for a new CEO.
