Genesis is set to expand its standalone retail network with four new U.S. locations, including Washington and Minnesota, as it prepares to unveil the 2026 GV70 and Electrified GV70. These SUVs are a testament to Genesis' commitment to luxury, technology, and performance.
The 2026 GV70 comes with two turbocharged engine options: a 2.5-liter inline-4 producing 300 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque, and a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 delivering 375 horsepower. Both engines are paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive. Fuel economy for the 2.5T is rated around 20 mpg city / 28 mpg highway, while the 3.5T achieves about 18 mpg city / 25 mpg highway. Enhancements for 2026 include an updated drivetrain calibration for improved responsiveness, selectable drive modes with added Terrain Mode, and a new 27-inch OLED widescreen dashboard display.
Key features of the 2026 GV70 include Electronically Controlled Suspension with Road Preview, an aggressive exterior design with the signature Crest Grille, LED lighting, and alloy wheel options up to 21 inches. Interior upgrades in higher trims include features like heated outboard rear seats, a Bang & Olufsen sound system, active noise canceling, a head-up display, and automated parking.
The 2026 Electrified GV70, the all-electric variant, is powered by dual electric motors (one on each axle) producing a combined 429 horsepower and 516 lb-ft torque with all-wheel drive. It has a larger battery capacity of 84 kWh (up from 77.4 kWh in 2025), boosting its EPA-estimated range to approximately 263 miles for the base trim and around 243 miles for higher trims like the Advanced and Prestige. It supports towing up to 3,500 pounds with an available trailer hitch. Interior upgrades for the Electrified GV70 include Nappa leather upholstery, premium dashboard materials, rear window shades, and advanced tech features similar to the gasoline GV70 Prestige trim.
Both models focus on luxury, technology, and performance, with the GV70 gas model emphasizing driving dynamics and responsive turbocharged engines, while the Electrified GV70 targets premium all-electric performance and upgraded comfort amenities.
In addition to the performance upgrades, both models have undergone a redesign. The redesigned GV70 features a revamped G-Matrix Crest Grille. The interior of the 2026 GV70 features a new 27-inch OLED display. Both the 2026 GV70 and Electrified GV70 have voice recognition for HVAC and window controls. The Electrified GV70 offers six exterior hues and two interior palettes, while the 2026 GV70 offers ten exterior colors and four Nappa leather options.
The Electrified GV70 comes with an 84-kWh battery and a NACS charge port as standard. The OLED display in the 2026 GV70 combines the cluster and infotainment system. The Electrified GV70 has an integrated charge port in its redesigned grille. Both models have redesigned multi-lens array (MLA) headlamps. Improved over-the-air update capabilities are available on both models. The new Terrain Mode allows drivers to tailor performance for snow, mud, or sand. The front skid plate, extended air intakes, and redesigned wheels have been updated on both models.
