Maruti Suzuki Boosts Sales in April-July 2025, Focuses on SUV Launches

Maruti Suzuki has reported a slight increase in cumulative sales for the April-July 2025 period, with a total of 7,08,387 units sold, compared to 6,96,909 units in the same period last year. This growth is attributed to strong domestic sales and a significant boost in exports.

In the domestic market, passenger vehicle sales reached 1,37,776 units in July 2025. Sales in the compact segment, which includes popular models like the Baleno, Swift, Dzire, WagonR, and Celerio, saw an increase to 65,667 units. However, sales of entry-level hatchbacks, Alto and S-Presso, decreased to 6,822 units. The mid-size sedan segment continues to decline, as indicated by the Ciaz sedan's sales of only 173 units.

The utility vehicle portfolio, which includes the Brezza, Ertiga, Grand Vitara, Fronx, XL6, Jimny, Invicto, saw a decrease in sales to 52,773 units in July 2025. The Super Carry LCV contributed 2,794 units to the total sales. Sales to other OEMs in July 2025 were 8,211 units.

Maruti Suzuki's strong overseas sales performance significantly contributed to the company's sales mix. Exports increased to 31,745 units in July 2025, a 32% jump from the 23,985 units in the year-ago period.

Looking ahead, Maruti Suzuki has an exciting lineup planned for launch in India in 2025 and early 2026. The focus is on SUVs, including electric and larger 7-seater models, along with some hatchback updates. Key upcoming models include:

  1. Maruti Escudo – An electric SUV expected to launch on September 3, 2025, priced around Rs. 9.75 lakh.
  2. Maruti e Vitara – An electric SUV expected to launch on September 10, 2025, with a price range of approximately Rs. 20-25 lakh.
  3. Maruti Brezza 2025 – A new generation of the popular SUV expected by mid-October 2025, priced around Rs. 8.5 lakh.
  4. Maruti Grand Vitara 3-row (7 seater) – Expected in mid-November 2025, with an estimated price between Rs. 14-27 lakh depending on version and sources.
  5. Maruti WagonR Electric – Scheduled for January 15, 2026, estimated at Rs. 8.5 lakh.
  6. Maruti WagonR Flex Fuel – Expected launch around February 2026, priced around Rs. 8.5 lakh.

These launches are expected to commence with the Escudo and e Vitara in September 2025.
