BYD teams up with Finnish distributor Veho to enhance their local sales infrastructure
In a significant move, Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) maker BYD has announced plans to establish new retail outlets in four major Finnish cities: Helsinki, Espoo, Tampere, and Turku. This strategic partnership with Finnish automotive distributor Veho Group aims to provide local consumers with more convenient purchasing, usage, and after-sales services.
The partnership is expected to upgrade BYD's sales and service network in Finland, further strengthening its position in one of Europe's most important NEV markets. Finland has seen rapid growth in the adoption of electric vehicles, making it an attractive market for global NEV manufacturers.
BYD's stock ticker symbols are HKG: 1211 and OTCMKTS: BYDDY. In July, the company surpassed Tesla in BEV registrations in Europe for the first time, selling 344,296 NEVs, up 0.56 percent year-on-year, but down 10.01 percent from June. The company also reported selling 80,737 vehicles overseas in July, up 169.00 percent year-on-year, but down 10.34 percent from June.
Stella Li, BYD's executive vice president, stated that the partnership will enable more consumers to experience BYD's models up close. BYD has already launched eight models locally in the Finnish passenger vehicle market since 2023, including the Dolphin and Seal models, which were launched in October 2023 in partnership with RSA.
The exact locations of these new retail outlets have not been disclosed yet, but the strategic cooperation with Veho Group focuses on the four aforementioned cities. The partnership is set to expand BYD's footprint in Finland, offering more opportunities for Finnish consumers to embrace sustainable mobility solutions.
