The Star Entertainment Group Limited is making significant strides in its business expansion, with the upcoming opening of Queens Wharf Brisbane on August 29. This new world-class casino, set to redefine the Brisbane skyline, will offer unparalleled experiences and boasts a unique feature – Lindy Lee's masterpiece, 'Being Swallowed by the Milky Way', illuminating the building.

Lee, a homegrown, internationally revered artist, has created a breathtaking piece that symbolises the celestial journey of the Milky Way. This artwork is a fitting representation of the new chapter Queens Wharf Brisbane marks for The Star's local business.

As part of the preparations for the opening, The Star has announced the closure of its Treasury Brisbane Casino. The closure is in line with the company's focus on the development and launch of Queens Wharf Brisbane.

Meanwhile, The Star's Sydney business continues to face challenges. The office of Liquor and Gaming Regulations has found the business unsuitable to hold a license in New South Wales, and the company is currently struggling with the application of its remediation plan. This extension suggests that The Star isn't quite ready yet in terms of remediation.

In response to the unsuitability finding, The Star has made multiple leadership changes, but the name of the person who took over the leadership of The Star Sydney to solve compliance issues remains undisclosed. The tenure of the special manager at Star Sydney has been recently extended.

The casino's remediation process has proven to be a challenging matter, with the search results not providing information about the name of the person leading the efforts. The Star has, however, prepared exciting promotions and experiences for the opening of Queens Wharf Brisbane.

On a positive note, The Star is set to publish its FY financials on August 30, providing insights into the company's financial health amidst these transitions. The opening of Queens Wharf Brisbane is subject to final regulatory approvals, and it remains to be seen how these developments will shape the future of The Star Entertainment Group Limited.
