Bridge closure for pedestrians and cyclists on Scharnhorststraße Extension starting 25th August

The Scharnhorststraße bridge extension will be closed for repairs from August 25th to September 5th, 2025. During this period, pedestrians and cyclists will be affected by the closure.

For pedestrians, the sidewalk on the opposite side of the street will be available for use. This means that those wishing to cross the bridge can do so by walking on the pavement on the other side of the road.

Cyclists, on the other hand, will need to use the road during the closure. It is advised to exercise caution and follow all traffic rules to ensure safety.

Access to the allotment gardens will be possible via the Loitzer Landstraße on August 30th, 2025. However, entering or exiting Osnabrucker Straße will not be possible on the same day due to the full closure of the junction.

The responsible party for the repair work on the pedestrian walkway and bicycle bridge extension on Scharnhorststraße is typically the local municipal public works department or the project management office assigned by the city administration.

The temporary removal of the bollard on the extension of Scharnhorststraße will be on August 30th, 2025, for access to the Loitzer Landstraße. This measure is being taken to facilitate access during the closure period.

Repairs to the concrete slabs of the bridge are necessary to ensure the safety and longevity of the structure. The good news is that these repairs have already been completed.

The bridge completion is scheduled for the first week of September, 2025. By the start of the new school year, the pedestrian and cycle bridge will be operational again, making commuting easier for those in the area.

It is important to note that the closure and diversion of traffic are necessary to ensure the safety of everyone involved and to complete the necessary repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible. We advise all road users to plan their routes accordingly and to be patient during this period.
