Boviet Solar to Supply 255 MW of Advanced Modules to Intersect Power
Boviet Solar has inked a deal to supply 255 MW of advanced solar modules to Intersect Power, a leading US renewable energy developer. The modules, featuring cutting-edge technology, are set to power a major utility-scale project in the United States between 2023 and 2024. This order may signal easing pressures from a US Department of Commerce investigation into alleged solar panel dumping.
The solar modules, part of Boviet's Vega Series, boast high-purity monocrystalline wafer technology, PERC, half-cut, multi-busbar, and large cell design. They offer a 25-year linear output warranty with minimal degradation after the first year. The modules have earned top performance ratings from PVEL since 2019 and hold BloombergNEF's Tier 1 status since 2017. The Vega Series 550 W module achieves an impressive 21.1% efficiency and a maximum power output of 433 W.
The deal comes amidst a reduction in US utility-scale solar deployment projections by the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA), partly due to the ongoing investigation. However, an executive order by the Biden administration has temporarily lifted the threat of tariffs, potentially boosting the market.
