Borken Restaurants Inspections: Labor Law Violations Spark Investigations
Authorities in Borken district conducted inspections at six local restaurants on the evening of August 31, 2025. The joint operation by customs, police, and foreigners' office uncovered numerous labor law violations, sparking investigations.
The inspections, led by the Main Customs Office Münster, revealed several issues. At one establishment, four employees were in violation of labor laws. One employee was found working without a residence permit, while two others were not registered with social security. Additionally, one employee was not receiving the minimum wage. Similar violations were found at another establishment, where employees were working without social security registration and two did not have their IDs.
In the first establishment, a 68-year-old employee was discovered without a valid immigration status. This led to investigations against both the employee and their employer. Furthermore, an administrative offense procedure was initiated against an employee who refused to answer questions from customs officers.
The joint operation resulted in investigations against multiple employees and employers for various labor law violations. Authorities are working to ensure compliance with regulations and protect workers' rights.
