In a recent announcement by the Autorità di Sistema Portuale (AdSP) of Sardinia, the region's ports have shown significant growth across various sectors. The trend, as reported by the AdSP's President, Massimo Deiana, highlights an increase in revenues, traffic, and investments.

According to the latest annual report, **revenues have shown remarkable growth** due to increased port activities and expanded service offerings. The Port of Cagliari, for instance, registered approximately 100,000 TEUs in the Mito Srl container compound, marking a 77.7% increase from 2023. Moreover, the current revenues at Sardinia's ports have risen by approximately 2 million euros compared to 2023, totalling over 71 million 200,000 euros.

**Traffic throughput has increased substantially**, reflecting higher volumes of cargo and passenger movements. Over 684,000 cruise passengers were in transit at Sardinia's ports in 2024, a 57% increase. Additionally, over 6 million 500,000 passengers passed through Sardinia's ports in 2024, representing a 5.2% increase. The year 2024 ended with about 41 million 700,000 tons of cargo at Sardinia's ports, a 1.7% increase from 2023.

**Investments in port infrastructure and modernization projects have surged**, with expenditures at Sardinia's ports rising by 21.5% compared to 2023, reaching just over 39 million 300,000 euros. These investments aim to enhance capacity and efficiency, with the ports of Sardinia becoming more competitive within the Mediterranean region.

President Deiana emphasized this positive trend as a sign of Sardinia’s strategic importance in maritime logistics and economic development. The available administrative surplus amounts to about 23 million euros, the lowest recorded so far at the Authority, with over 325 million euros earmarked for ongoing works.

These developments position Sardinia’s ports for sustained growth and increased connectivity in the coming years. As President Deiana stated, the 2024 annual report shows a port system in good health, signalling a promising future for the maritime industry in Sardinia. For the most precise and up-to-date statistics, consulting the full AdSP annual report or official statements by President Deiana would be necessary.

The surge in investments in port infrastructure and modernization projects underscores the growth in the **finance** sector, as significant funds are being allocated to boost capacity and efficiency at Sardinia's ports. Furthermore, the increased traffic throughput in **transportation** and the remarkable growth in **revenues** indicate a thriving business environment at the ports of Sardinia.
