The automotive world was abuzz with excitement as BMW unveiled its latest concept car, the Speedtop, at this year's Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este show on the picturesque shores of Lake Como in Italy.

The Speedtop is a reimagining of BMW's Touring models, blending classic design elements with modern innovation. At the forefront of this design is the shark-nose front, a nod to BMW's rich heritage.

Domagoj Dukec, the head of Exterior Design at BMW Group Design, was responsible for the conception of the BMW Concept Speedtop. Adrian van Hooydonk, overall in charge of BMW Group Design, praised the Speedtop, stating that it exudes dynamism and elegance even when standing still.

The Speedtop is built on the M8 platform, which gives it the power of a 460kW 4.4-litre twin turbo engine, making it the car with the most powerful V8 engine currently offered by BMW.

The Speedtop is designed in the style of a shooting brake and has design references to the Skytop convertible revealed last year. The central spline on the Speedtop's bonnet continues over the roof to the rear spoiler, giving the car a unique and distinctive profile.

The interior of the Speedtop features a combination of Sundown Maroon and Moonstone White colours, creating a sleek and modern aesthetic. Two storage areas with leather straps behind the seats provide space for two of Schedoni's made-to-measure bags, while a light beam illuminates the luggage compartment, which is divided into two sections. The roof spline on the exterior is mirrored as a light beam in the two-tone leather headliner.

BMW has confirmed that a limited run of 70 units of the Speedtop will be built and made available for order. To accommodate the luxurious Schedoni luggage, the trunk can also hold a matching weekend bag. The Speedtop's two-tone, 14-spoke wheels have been designed specifically for the concept car.

The positive response to the BMW Concept Skytop last year led to the decision to offer the Speedtop in a limited production series. With its shark-nose front, powerful engine, unique profile, and luxurious interior, the Speedtop is sure to make a lasting impression in the automotive industry. The Speedtop is now available for order in this limited production series.
