BMW Sales Surge 8.8% in Q3 2025, Ending 18-Month Decline
BMW has reversed its sales decline, reporting an 8.8 percent increase in car deliveries in the third quarter of 2025. This marks the first rise in sales for the German automaker in a year and a half, following five consecutive declines. The core BMW brand led the charge with a 5.7 percent increase to 514,600 cars. Meanwhile, MINI saw a significant boost, with sales up by a third to 72,400 cars. Rolls-Royce also contributed to the positive trend, reporting a 13 percent increase to 1,304 cars. BMW's sales growth was particularly strong in Europe and the US. In Germany, sales surged by 12 percent to 69,900 cars, while in Europe as a whole, deliveries rose by 9 percent to 239,600 cars. In the US, despite tariffs, sales increased by 24 percent. However, in China, sales declined by 0.4 percent, though this was an improvement on the weak previous year's basis. Overall, BMW delivered 588,300 cars in the third quarter, compared to 539,700 in the same period last year. This strong performance is partly attributed to a low base effect from the previous year, which saw a 13 percent drop due to brake issues. BMW's third-quarter sales growth is a welcome turnaround for the company. With strong performances in key markets and a broad range of brands contributing to the increase, BMW is poised to continue its recovery in the coming months.
