Bergisch Gladbach's New Road Crossing Boosts Mobility
Bergisch Gladbach has reached a significant milestone in its traffic infrastructure development. The Infrastructure and Project Company Bergisch Gladbach (IPGL) has been tasked with constructing a breaking news road crossing over the S-Bahn track, set to improve accessibility and mobility in the city.
The new road crossing, connecting Britannia-Hütte to the Dreieckskreuzung and Kalkstraße, is a response to the planned closure of the Tannenbergstraße railway crossing due to increased S-Bahn operations. It will provide a high-performance solution for car and heavy traffic, while Deutsche Bahn will build an underpass for cyclists and pedestrians at Tannenbergstraße.
Dr. Sebastian Michalsky, Managing Director of IPGL, sees this project as a significant contribution to better accessibility and mobility in Bergisch Gladbach. IPGL is working closely with politics, administration, Deutsche Bahn, and go.Rheinland to ensure its successful realization. Next, IPGL will tender the planning services for the project.
Ragnar Migenda, First Deputy Mayor of the City of Bergisch Gladbach, views the new road crossing as an important step towards modern infrastructure. He believes it will improve mobility in the long term.
The new road crossing, closely linked to the planned expansion of the S11, is set to enhance Bergisch Gladbach's traffic infrastructure. IPGL's upcoming tender for planning services marks the next step in this significant project.
