Veteran banking professional Mr. Syed Zulkar Nayen has embarked on a new chapter in his career, joining Bank Asia PLC as Deputy Managing Director and Head of Retail Banking. With over two decades of experience in the banking sector, Mr. Nayen brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his new role.
Mr. Nayen's career began in 2001 with HSBC Bangladesh, where he honed his skills and rose through the ranks. In 2007, he made the move to Eastern Bank PLC, where he advanced to Senior Executive Vice President and Head of Business in Retail and SME Banking. During his tenure at Eastern Bank, Mr. Nayen played a pivotal role in expanding distribution networks, enhancing retail business performance, and fostering inclusive financial ecosystems.
His achievements at Eastern Bank did not go unnoticed, and on August 7, 2025, he was appointed Deputy Managing Director and Head of Retail Banking at Bank Asia PLC.
