Aragon Energy Sector Unites to Push for RDL 7/2025 Validation
Aragonese and Spanish energy sector associations, including CEOE Aragón, Clenar, and UNEF, have united to appeal to political parties. They request the validation of the 'Norm for the Integration of Renewable Energies into the Electricity System', known as RDL 7/2025. This norm is seen as a strategic opportunity to bolster Aragon's energy leadership and industrial competitiveness.
The associations stress the importance of the RDL for energy security, business competitiveness, and energy sovereignty. They believe it will provide security of electricity supply, certainty to investors, and promote energy sovereignty. The norm also aims to reduce energy costs for key sectors of the Aragonese economy, such as agroindustry, automotive, logistics, and electro-intensive industry.
The signatories welcome the RDL's measures facilitating storage hybridization and speeding up its implementation. They view the development of self-consumption and energy communities as an opportunity to revitalize rural areas, combat depopulation, and create new opportunities for young people and freelancers. However, they warn that non-validation of the RDL could lead to exposure to future crises, loss of international competitiveness, paralysis of investments, and energy dependence.
CEOE Aragón, Clenar, and UNEF call for a more competitive, secure, and modern Aragon and Spain. They urge political parties to take institutional responsibility and commit to energy, business, and technological development. The approval of the RDL 7/2025 on July 22, 2025, is seen as a crucial step towards achieving these goals.
