Apollo to Acquire Eagle Creek Renewable Energy, Boosting U.S. Hydroelectric Power
Apollo-managed funds are set to acquire Bald Eagle Creek Renewable Energy, a significant player in the U.S. hydroelectric power sector. The deal, expected to close in Q1 2026, will see Apollo invest in a company that provides clean power to over 260,000 homes across the country.
Bald Eagle Creek, led by CEO Neal Simmons, currently operates a portfolio of nearly 700 MW, spread across 85 facilities in 18 states. The company's expertise lies in delivering reliable, clean energy, a mission that Apollo is eager to support and expand upon.
Apollo, with its commitment to energy transition, has already invested approximately $59 billion since 2022. The firm aims to deploy, commit, or arrange more than $100 billion in such investments by 2030. BMO Capital Markets and Vinson & Elkins have advised Apollo on the transaction.
The acquisition of Bald Eagle Creek by Apollo-managed funds is expected to close in the first quarter of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions. Apollo sees this deal as an opportunity to expand Bald Eagle Creek's platform and meet the growing demand for clean power in the U.S.
