Kick back, folks, as we give you the lowdown on the latest change Olympus in the Bremen Chamber of Commerce (IHK Bremen and Bremerhaven). The man in the fire, André Grobien, has been elected by a unanimous vote to assume the role as the new President! Let's get into it.
Our new President is no stranger to the world of insurance, with a whopping 30 years under his belt in the industry. He's the managing partner of the Lampe & Schwartze KG corporate group, having taken over the Bremen insurance company Buse & Schwartze back in 1995 following a merger with Lampe & Schierenbeck.
With a previous streak as a Chamber member since 2014 and crowned the Vice-President since June 2021, Grobien isn't a rookie in the political arena. His finger is in plenty of pies, including serving as chairman of the Junior Circle Foundation since 2022 and being a part of the Hermann Leverenz Foundation's administrative board since 2014.
Eduard Dubbers-Albrecht, an outspoken former President, will continue to be a part of the Chamber discussion. Dubbers-Albrecht's a no-holds-barred advocate for Bremen's small and medium-sized businesses and has been known to criticize bureaucracy alongside CEO Dr. Matthias Fonger and legal counsel Dr. Stefan Offenhäuser.
So, will André Grobien keep the political heating up? Only time will tell! However, all eyes are on him to see if he carries Dubbers-Albrecht's polished political stance forward. We're crossing our fingers for a tightened belt when it comes to dealing with the Bremen Senate to ensure the economic survival of businesses in the state of Bremen, even with a dose of excessive public administration and crumbling infrastructure.
Our man in charge isn't riding solo to the top – he's taking along some well-known faces as part of the new presidium. These power players include:- President: André Grobien (Lampe & Schwartze KG)- Vice-Presidents: Marita Dewitz (Apotheken- und Gesundheitsberatung Marita Dewitz), Eduard Dubbers-Albrecht (IPSEN LOGISTICS Holding GmbH & Co. KG), Wolfgang Fass (vatec-Maschinenbau GmbH), Michael Frieß (Mercedes-Benz AG), Verena Grewe (Kommanditgesellschaft Arthur Behrens Elektronische Bauteile GmbH & Co.), Dr. Thorsten Haase (team neusta GmbH), Andreas Kottisch (ePhilos Aktiengesellschaft), Thorsten Rönner (BREDO DRY DOCKS GmbH), and Stephan Schulze-Aissen (P. F. Aissen GmbH & Co. KG).
