Amprius Partners with LG for South Korean Battery Plant, Boosting Production

Amprius Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: AMPX) has taken a significant stride in its global expansion with a strategic manufacturing partnership in South Korea. The collaboration with LG Energy Solution, a leading battery manufacturer, will bolster Amprius' production capacity and meet the surging demand for high-performance SiCore® cells.

The new facility in South Korea will manufacture SiCore silicon anode cells tailored to Amprius' specifications. This will support both current and next-generation battery platforms, further cementing Amprius' position in the market.

Dr. Kang Sun, CEO of Amprius Technologies, highlighted the partnership's role in the company's capital-light production scaling strategy. The deal adds to Amprius' existing 1.8 GWh of contracted production capacity, ensuring volume delivery and global market competitiveness.

Initial production will focus on a balanced SiCore cell for an advanced drone, demonstrating the versatility of Amprius' SiCore platform.

The partnership with LG Energy Solution is a pivotal step in Amprius' journey to scale its SiCore platform and accelerate the commercialization of high-performance silicon batteries. With enhanced production capacity and a global footprint, Amprius is well-positioned to meet the rising global demand for its innovative battery solutions.
