In response to the ongoing pandemic-related circumstances, the Verkehrs und Wasser GmbH (VWG) has announced changes to its bus services starting from Monday, December 21.

The bus service frequency will be reduced, operating on a 30-minute interval, similar to Sunday afternoon schedules. This adjustment will be in effect until further notice, with the Sunday schedule applying to almost all lines.

There will be no changes to lines 280 and 350. However, line 310 will run via the "famila" stop on weekdays, unlike on Sundays. During peak hours, line 310 will not run via "Uni / Campus Wechloy" but will be served by line 306, which will run additionally.

Line 309 will run every 20 minutes, and lines 311/321 will run together every 15 minutes during peak hours. Night bus services remain suspended until further notice.

The special schedules will not be posted at bus stops, but the Fahrplaner-APP and electronic displays at bus stops will be up-to-date. It's important to note that the bus service changes do not involve any advertisements.

The VWG, a company primarily operating bus transport services within the city of Oldenburg and its surrounding areas, is making these adjustments due to reduced demand caused by closures of schools, facilities, and businesses.

In addition, customer centers will reopen with limited hours starting December 21. The InfoCenter at the ZOB will be open from 7 am to 12 pm, and the Mobility Center at the Lappan will be open from 9 am to 2 pm. Both will be closed on Saturdays, Christmas Eve, and New Year's Eve. All regulations are initially in effect until January 10.

It's worth mentioning that the VWG is municipally associated, with 74% ownership by the City of Oldenburg and 26% by EWE VERTRIEB GmbH. The company runs the bus transport under a public service contract for the Zweckverband Verkehrsverbund Bremen/Niedersachsen (ZVBN), of which the City of Oldenburg is a member.

Bus services will end at 5 pm on Christmas Eve and at 9 pm on New Year's Eve. The changes in bus service are currently in effect and are subject to further notice.
