Abridge AI Raises $250M for Healthcare AI Expansion
Pittsburgh-based Abridge AI, Inc. has secured $250 million in a Series D funding round, led by prominent entrepreneur Elad Gil and venture capital firm IVP. The funding will boost the development of Abridge's AI capabilities and expand its platform's commercial applications.
Abridge, a leader in healthcare communication and documentation software, supports over 28 languages and 50 specialties. Its platform is used in diverse care settings across over 100 major U.S. healthcare systems. The company's generative AI converts patient-clinician conversations into structured, billable documentation in real time.
The funding round, which closed in February 2025, was co-led by Elad Gil and IVP. Gil, a well-known entrepreneur and investor, focuses on technology, healthcare, and AI startups. IVP is a venture capital and growth equity firm investing in late-stage and growth-stage technology companies. Besides Gil and IVP, 11 other investors participated in the round.
With the $250 million investment, Abridge AI will fuel further development of its AI capabilities and support commercial growth for broader applications of its platform. The company aims to expand its reach in the healthcare sector, providing advanced AI assistance to clinicians across diverse care settings.
