A collective of financial backers acquires the aircraft production company Lilium

Recently, it appeared that Lilium, the struggling electric aircraft innovator, was all but finished. However, it appears that the startup has suddenly found a prospective purchaser. According to the startup's announcement, the investor consortium Mobile Uplift Corporation has finalized a purchase agreement for Lilium's subsidiary operating assets. Resumption of production is scheduled for January.

According to the Gründerszene portal, which cited multiple sources in the company's circle, around 1,000 employees were given their termination notices on December 20. For the time being, only a modest number of employees will continue working at Lilium, the flying taxi startup.

It was believed that a desperate move made on Friday had fallen through. As reported by the "Wirtschaftswoche", binding investment offers had been received. At mid-week, it was stated that "several bidders are still in the race."

You'll hear more about this shortly.

Despite facing challenges, Lilium's operations in Bavaria, Germany, are set to resume in January, following the purchase of its subsidiary by Mobile Uplift Corporation. This positive development comes after a period where many employees received termination notices.
